After months of planning, we were delighted to launch the 2018 Kitesurfing Armada Festival on 1st March! It has been the usual madness trying to pull it all together, but with the help of some fantastic sponsors stepping up once again to support the event we are looking forward to delivering the biggest and best festival to date.
Entry to the festival itself will be free again, but this year as the council need to know who we have on site, so you just need to register your details to get your free ticket, just head to the Tickets Section. Kitesurfing tickets and camping tickets are also available at this link.
Also you may have spotted this will be the first year without Virgin as the Title Sponsor. We enjoyed working with Richard and the team at Virgin over the past 5 years, they have been a fantastic support and we now have a great platform in place at the Armada for our next Title sponsor – who will be out there somewhere! If you would like to talk about this option – please do get in touch. In the meantime plans for the festival are growing daily! We have more kitesurfing activities planned than ever before, so lets hope the wind gods smile on us like last year – and on the land side loads of new features, a greatly improved food court, more live bands, the family zone, hot tubs, talks, comps, parties and all the usual fun stuff we love at the Armada. The massive brands tent is full once again and rumours of significant effort being put in by the brands means we could be in for some fantastic stands this year…
The pro’s are back in force with Lewis Crathern naturally, alongside Aaron Hadlow, Sam Light, Tom Court and the Bridges and others planning to sign up. We are looking forward to doing a lot more pro demo stuff with the live PA to the beach which we tested last year with Lew, Aaron, Nick Jacobsen and Sam.
Charities will be key again and of course the Kite SUP Run event returns as our main fundraising event. We tested it with 20 willing supporters in October last year and it was great fun! Kite a mile, SUP a mile and Run a mile – and raise a £100 for the Armada Trust. And you get your kitesurfing ticket for the weekend (usually £40) for FREE if you hit your target! Get involved – just tick the Kite SUP Run box on the entry form when buying a kitesurfing ticket and we will get in touch. We have raised over £180,000 so far for charities through this event and we want to do lots more this year.
One of our key charities are the Hayling Island First Responders – getting to people before the ambulance to help in more remote areas and a well loved charity on Hayling. Alongside them we have Surfers Against Sewage, RNLI, Access Adventures and youth charity Snow-Camp all being supported at the festival this year. Head over to their stands and find out more. Funds raised will also support the Kite & SUP Youth Tour which we fund every year. It’s taking place around the UK over Easter in 2018 – so check out the poster head down to one of the stops if you have kids who want to get involved.
All for now, thank you all for your support, please check out and share the little film we put together of the festival – we cant wait for this year’s event! Hope to see you all there.
Tickets to the festival are free but you need to register online for free entry. To register please go to the ticket section at: www.kitesurfingarmada.com. Kitesurfing and camping tickets are also available to buy here.
