The Virgin Kitesurfing Armada is a unique kitesurfing festival held on Hayling Island, bringing the kitesurfing community together for one fantastic weekend of kiting, music, fundraising and record breaking. To date we have broken 3 GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ and raised over £120,000 for charity.
18-20 September, 2-4 October or 16-18 October 2015
The Virgin Kitesurfing Armada Festival will take place at Hayling Island on the first windy weekend of 18-20 September, 2-4 October or 16-18 October 2015. The festival will open at 11am on the Friday and will feature all the best kitesurfing brands exhibiting the latest gear, talks from pro-kiters, DJ’s and live music, a bar area, jumbo screen and of course lots of kitesurfing! Including taster sessions and demo’s on the beach in front of the festival marquees. Entrance is free, but please make a donation to our charities. See more.
GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ attempt and 15 mile course
This year, the Armada has an ambitious target to get over 500 GPS tracked kitesurfers to ride together on a 15 mile mass downwinder between Hayling Island to Pagham, on either the Saturday or Sunday of the festival. We will be attempting to break the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the ‘Largest Parade of Kitesurfers’ over the first mile of the course, before continuing on to Pagham. The Armada is open to any intermediate kitesurfers and we need over 352 kitesurfers to break the record! See more.
Supporting The Armada Trust
We love the idea of bringing together kitesurfing communities from across the UK and further afield, kiting together, breaking a World Record and putting on a fantastic kitesurfing festival that everyone can enjoy. But alongside this, the Virgin Kitesurfing Armada raises funds for a range of youth and rescue charities, via The Armada Trust. We have raised over £120,000 so far for good causes, and we want to do even more this year! See more.
